John,
The House is returning to Washington today to vote on the Senate-passed budget resolution. Tonight is a procedural vote, and if that succeeds tomorrow is a vote on final passage. If both pass, we’ll be one step closer to making $3.5 trillion in investments in healthcare, eldercare, childcare, education, clean energy and more, funded by making big corporations and the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes. But it’s not a done deal—we need your help!
Can you click to call your representative right now and demand they vote to pass the budget resolution so we can make the rich and corporations pay their fair share to fund bold investments benefitting working families and our future?
It’s critical that your U.S. Representative hears from you today. If the budget resolution passes, that begins the budget reconciliation process giving Congress the opportunity to make big, bold investments in healthcare, eldercare, childcare, education, housing, child tax credit expansion, clean energy, paid family leave, and more. A budget reconciliation bill can pass the Senate with a simple majority, meaning Mitch McConnell and his cronies can’t kill it with a filibuster.
It’s also our chance to undo the Trump tax scam, unrig our tax code for working families, and build an economy that rewards work, not wealth.
Some members of Congress think we “can’t afford” big, bold investments in working families. But 55 Fortune 500 companies paid $0 in federal income taxes last year, and billionaires got 60% ($1.8 trillion) richer during the pandemic. Tell them that when the wealthy and corporations pay their fair share in taxes, working people will benefit a lot!

Here’s a suggested call script for the budget vote:
Hello, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent of the congressman/congresswoman. I want them to vote YES on the budget resolution to provide $3.5 trillion in new investments that will make healthcare, eldercare, childcare, education, housing and clean energy more affordable. It will be funded by making big corporations and the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes.
Polls show this agenda is overwhelmingly supported by the public, including your constituents.
Please share my thoughts with my representative and urge them to vote YES on the budget resolution to make $3.5 trillion in investments for working families.
