New Voices in Animal Law Writing Contest
The Animal Legal Defense Fund is pleased to announce the 2019 New Voices in Animal Law Writing Contest! The first place winner will receive a $500 cash prize and the winning essay will be featured on our website. In collaboration with Speak Out for Farmed Animals Week, this year’s topic is: tell us about an individual farmed animal who has had an impact on your legal advocacy and the future you see for farmed animals globally. The contest is open to all student chapter members. All entries must be submitted by November 15.
Clerkship Application Deadline Extended
Be trained by experts in animal law at the Animal Legal Defense Fund! We’re hiring full-time clerks for summer 2020 in our Litigation and Criminal Justice Programs. Clerks receive a stipend of $2,400 a month. The application deadline has been extended to November 4.

The support of attorneys nationwide is integral to helping Animal Legal Defense Fund protect the lives and advance the interests of animals through the legal system. Animal Legal Defense Fund uses volunteer attorneys to work on a variety of projects including litigation, research, drafting briefs, lobbying, tabling, and assisting prosecutors with animal cruelty cases.
