The GOP is systematically disenfranchising tens of thousands of voters.
Republicans just won’t stop, team.
They’re struggling to win elections left and right, so they’re resorting to voter suppression – systematically stripping away rights from communities around the country. More than 400 bills that limit the right to vote have been introduced in legislatures across the country.
When I say this is a systematic attack on our rights, team, I really mean it. The GOP’s efforts to suppress the vote are coordinated and wide-spread.
We’ve seen this most recently in Georgia, a key battleground state where Democrats turned out in record numbers in 2020. Republicans there have passed an extremist, conservative voting rights bill into law that adds ridiculous barriers to vote for communities of color. They’ve changed the way absentee and early voting works, restricted transportation to the polls to people from specific counties, and barred anyone but poll workers from passing out food and water to voters waiting in line.
Thankfully, we have Dem AGs fighting this law. 22 of them have filed a brief in support of a Department of Justice lawsuit challenging it, and they’ll continue to be on the frontlines defending our democracy every step of the way.
We need to keep leaders like these in office, fighting for us. That’s where you come in, team.
