Friends — August 14th marked the 86th anniversary of the Social Security Act when President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed the critical social safety net into law, setting our country on a course that works to keep Americans out of poverty.

Today, nearly 65 million Americans receive monthly benefits from Social Security. This program has increased life expectancy — and provided a safety net for so many individuals and families. Reports estimate that by 2035, nearly 78 million Americans will depend on Social Security, which means we need to act NOW to ensure the program will be able to withstand the additional population.

Will you sign on and support Social Security? Millions of families depend on Social Security as their primary source of income and they’re depending on us to support this crucial program. ([link removed])

Social Security benefits every generation — nearly 3 million children under the age of 18 receive benefits, and this will continue to be a critical source as young people age through the workforce.

The American population is only going to continue to grow in size and in life expectancy, and we need to make sure that we have a safety net in place to support our population. Will you sign on and support Social Security? ([link removed])

We’re fighting hard for our future,
