John -- This summer, every Republican in the Senate voted against bringing the For the People Act forward, effectively endorsing voter suppression and partisan gerrymandering. But they aren’t alone in their efforts to block this bill.

Tucker Carlson, Ann Coulter, Tomi Lahren, and Ben Shapiro are drowning the airwaves and internet with attacks, mischaracterizing provisions in the For the People Act.

Here’s how Carlson, Lahren, Shapiro, and Coulter mischaracterized provisions in the For the People Act:

1. Tucker Carlson
"A system like that is suicidal for democracy and no other free country would tolerate it."

2. Tomi Lahren
“It’s voter fraud codified. The Democrats want illegals voting. That’s why they are allowing this open border invasion.”

3. Ben Shapiro
“When you say that voter suppression is an ongoing threat in the United States: you are lying. It is untrue. There is no evidence of widespread voter suppression in the United States. Period.”

4. Ann Coulter
“[It’s a] vote-stealing bill… Every congressional Democrat is fine with the provisions in the “For the People” bill -- which are ludicrous.”

Conservatives in Congress will continue to parrot lies about this bill -- but they’ve only been successful thus far because they’ve had help from extremely influential media personalities who prop up their mischaracterizations.

If we don’t combat misinformation like this -- we can expect the bill to be blocked again. An overwhelming majority of Americans support this bill, and it’s a point worth repeating.
