Friend — I have a huge update to share on our nationwide grassroots surge campaign to pass
the most important climate legislation in a generation:
As of this past week, our organizers have knocked on over 100,000 doors in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, all to rally support for the bill in a leadup to a vote.
This is huge.
A key vote on the budget with the necessary investments to fight climate change is now expected in the House this week and we've received word that polluter interests are targeting undecided lawmakers with massive ad spends.
If that goes unanswered, we're going to lose this vote, friend. Simply put: We need your help to keep our campaign up. The $3.5 trillion package includes major provisions on climate change, but the margins on the vote are going to be
razor-thin.
If you're in a position to pitch in, donate today. Help us win. Even $5 is enough to make a difference »
We know our strategy can make a difference: We're driving highly visible grassroots support for climate action in key districts. The truth is: it's working.
We're hearing from members of Congress who are being inundated with messages from grassroots activists. They're seeing pro-environment lawn signs in their home districts, ads across multiple platforms — they're seeing support everywhere for action on climate now.
We're holding more than 31 events nationwide with members of Congress, local leaders, and affiliate groups to show how much communities across the country care about investment in clean energy jobs and climate action. And we're running a massive field program in eight states and 15 congressional districts, with 15 offices and 100 staff on the ground.
We're also running a media campaign to ensure that key members of Congress feel supported in taking strong action for clean energy, climate, jobs, and justice. Communications include new cable, broadcast TV, and digital ads in 16 states and 23 congressional districts, airing as members of Congress are home for August recess.
We are so close to the finish line here — we just need to ramp up support and action before the vote in a couple weeks.
We can win if we reach our $50,000 August fundraising goal. This goal helps keep organizers knocking on doors and ads airing across channels.
Pitch in, even $5 helps. Triple your impact. This campaign is too important to miss »
Hope to knock on your door soon. Thanks for your support today and every day.
Onward,
