Seeing my daughter officially launch her campaign for U.S. Senate in Ohio made me so proud. The outpouring of support for her campaign we’ve seen in these first few days is so inspiring.

I’m a public school teacher, not a campaign expert, and I don’t know all the ins and outs of running a successful campaign. But I do know we still have a long way to go before we win this race and finally elect a representative who will give the power back to our communities.

As a Columbus public school teacher, my Morgan has truly stepped into her role as a community organizer who is unafraid to fight the system. She is a role model and leader that my students can look up to.

I hope every kid who meets Morgan sees that fighting for what you believe in isn’t always the path of least resistance, but it’s the right thing to do. I hope they will see change is possible, and I hope that Morgan is given the opportunity to help them inherit a better world than what she or I had.
