We’re seeing the effects of climate inaction all around Montana: Longer and hotter fire seasons. Extreme drought impacting our crops and ranches. Melting glaciers. Diminished flow on our rivers.

When I ran for Montana’s Public Service Commission, it was to guide our state towards a renewable, sustainable, and affordable energy future. Not only is it the right thing to do for our climate, but it also will create GOOD paying jobs here in Montana.

Montana can and should lead the way on this issue. We can lead our country into a renewable energy future that doesn’t leave anyone behind.

It’s not just Montana’s beautiful public lands that are at stake here. It’s people’s jobs, people’s homes, and the livability of our planet with clean air & clean water.

That’s why I’ve taken on big corporations that were taking advantage of our energy infrastructure and trying to foot Montanans with the bill. I’ve fought for environmental policies that will actually help consumers and stand up to for-profit corporations.

Because the politicians & talking heads who try to tell you good environmental policies and good economic policies are mutually exclusive are just flat-out wrong.

We can create good-paying jobs while investing in renewable energy.

We can prioritize consumers, instead of bending over backwards for monopolies.

And we can hold big corporate polluters accountable.

I know this because I’ve done this. I’ve been in the trenches being the voice for Montanans, and I’ve seen what we can win when we work hard and fight back.

Our inaction is costing hard-working Monantans -- in more ways than one -- and I’m not done fighting until that’s solved.
