The 2021 election campaign is off to a strong start! Here’s a recap #ICYMI:

We’ve had Canadians’ back, and now it’s time to hear your voice.

This election is about the Canada we all want to build and the future we all want to see. This is the time to take bold action to build back better from a once-in-a-century crisis in an inclusive way – one that doesn’t leave anyone behind.

That’s what this important election is all about.

Supporting Canadian Businesses
Since the beginning of the pandemic, we’ve fought for Canadian businesses, protecting millions of jobs and putting Canada on the fast track to recovery. And we’re not done yet.

A re-elected Liberal government will maintain and create COVID-19 relief programs that support the hardest-hit sectors and fight for Canadian businesses, workers, families and communities. We will protect and create jobs by extending the Canada Recovery Hiring Program, providing grants to help pay salaries and rent, compensating for losses due to reduced capacity in theatres and cultural venues, and extending insurance coverage for media production.

Training 1,000 new firefighters
We need to continue to fight the climate crisis while adapting and preparing for future extreme weather events to keep Canadians safe and healthy.

Earlier this week, Justin Trudeau announced that

a re-elected Liberal government will support the training of 1,000 new firefighters to help monitor and contain wildfires across the country and invest in the resources and equipment they need to fight fires and stay safe.

Supporting seniors
Seniors deserve to live in dignity, safety, and comfort, and their families deserve to feel confident in the care their loved ones receive, no matter where they live.
That’s why our Liberal team has a plan to work with the provinces and territories to better support our seniors and the people who care for them.

A re-elected Liberal government will train 50,000 more personal support workers and raise their wages, including bringing their minimum wage to $25/hour, improve the quality and availability of long-term care beds, and double the Home Accessibility Tax Credit so seniors can stay in their homes longer.

$10 a day child care
Raising kids is expensive, and for too many families in Canada, early learning and child care is not accessible.
That’s why
[link removed]
we’re investing in $10 a day child care for all Canadian families. And in Quebec, where child care is already affordable, we’re working with the province to create more spaces and improve working conditions for educators.

Paid sick leave

A re-elected Liberal government will introduce 10 days of paid sick leave for all federally-regulated workers, because no one should have to choose between their health and paying their bills.

We’ll also invest in better ventilation for our schools, community centres, and workplaces so that the places where we work, learn, shop and play are healthy and safe.
