Friend,

We talk a lot about the work being done in the near term to win elections and fight back against a dangerous, growing threat against democracy.

But to truly make headway in parts of the country where extremism is on the rise, Democrats have to stop looking the other way and invest in building political infrastructure.

That’s why I want to tell you about Groundwork Project, a new organization founded by my friend Joe Kennedy to do exactly that in states across the South, the Plains, and Appalachia. It’s focused on supporting local organizers on the ground who are engaging voters year-round to build power for the underrepresented and disenfranchised communities.

If you believe in that mission as strongly as I do, I’m asking you to support Groundwork Project by making a donation today. [[link removed]]

When I was running for Senate in Kentucky, people told me all the time that Democrats just can’t win in some parts of the country. That misguided belief has led to decades of inaction — decades of falling behind the other side when it comes to community organizing and party building. It’s no wonder that so many people in these areas can’t help but feel that the Democratic Party has turned their back on them.

The only way to solve that problem is to start solving it. You gotta put the work in. That’s what I like about this project — they’re investing in hyperlocal organizing that builds sustainable political power, showing up year round and not just when ballots are being cast.

I believe our political future depends on efforts like this. Will you support this critical work by making a donation to Groundwork Project today? [[link removed]]

Thank you,
Amy
