Faith leaders oppose the displacement of Palestinians in Silwan Dear Email, As we continue to educate on and act against Israel’s displacement of Palestinians in Jerusalem and all across Palestine, we are urging faith leaders and clergy all over the country to sign on to this letter between now and Monday, August 23rd at 10 am EST in order to further lift the voices of our religious communities against ethnic cleansing. Last Sunday, the demolition freeze on 16 homes in Silwan’s Al Bustan neighborhood expired, placing more Palestinian families under the threat of Israeli demolition at any moment. U.S. faith leaders have come together and are responding in unison, as part of the August Jerusalem Month of Action, to expose Israel’s plans to displace Palestinians from Silwan to build a 'biblical theme park' and demand U.S. leaders stop funding these war crimes and human rights violations. This letter was written by individual organizers of faith in response to the August 2021 Jerusalem Month of Action led by 12 national U.S. Palestine organizations, including AMP.
