"The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble."

- Psalm 9:9

Pray for God’s intervention in the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact in Uganda. Many people, especially in Kampala, do not have enough food to feed their families and have no money for basic medical needs. With the restrictions currently in place, daily living is getting increasingly difficult for many, including IJM’s clients. Pray for the provision of medical resources, vaccines, and PPE to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

In 2018, the Dominican Republic anti-trafficking police rescued six young Venezuelan women from sex trafficking and arrested two suspects . IJM represented these survivors in court, and the aggressors were found guilty and given sentences of 25 and 20 years. Recently, the court of appeal reduced the sentences to 15 years. Pray for our team as they relentlessly continue to safeguard the rights of these survivors by appealing this decision in front of the Supreme Court.
South Asia
Praise God for the rescue of 19 people, including 4 children, who had been forced to work at a railway construction site. These families were trafficked to this worksite and forced to work in brutal conditions. One young couple was dragged back violently when they tried to escape for their wedding. Praise God for IJM’s partners who found the case and worked with quick-thinking government authorities to rescue the victims. Please pray the site owner and traffickers will be held accountable for their abuse.
Southeast Asia
Praise God for a successful online Trauma-Informed Care Training held by our IJM Cebu Aftercare Team! As an approach to care for survivors with trauma, this training helped the service providers more fully understand vicarious trauma and self-care. It was a remarkable experience when partners expressed excitement in attending an online training and completing it successfully. Please pray that the newly trained social workers, law enforcers and aftercare partners will be able to use the trauma-informed care training to best care for and protect children affected by online sexual exploitation.
IJM Global Office & Partners
IJM global office is located in the United States. IJM has Partner Offices in Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, South Korea, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Please join us in praying for our Freedom Sunday movement. This movement will partner with churches to help continue the great work of combating slavery by sending rescue to those in need. Please pray that churches would be moved to participate, and individual hearts would be pulled to the mission of IJM.

The updates we share on survivors or their cases can become sensitive over time. To respect and protect
them, please refrain from posting these prayer requests online.
