As Maryland’s COVID-19 positivity rate and cases per 100 thousand continue to
be among the lowest in the nation, Governor Hogan is calling on the Biden
Administration to take action to help contain the Delta variant surge across
the country. Calling the Biden administration’s timetables “not soon enough and
not good enough,” at a press conference, Governor Hogan urged the federal
government to make booster shots available immediately for seniors and
vulnerable populations, advance full FDA approval of vaccines, and expedite
approval of vaccines for 5- to 11-year olds.

According to Governor Hogan, “Governors across the country have become
increasingly frustrated with the confusing messaging and conflicting guidance
from the White House and federal government agencies regarding booster shots
for the wider population. This is one of a number of areas where we are
pressing the Biden administration for action.”

As he leads the push for a bipartisan federal infrastructure bill, Governor
Hogan is continuing to set a national example on rebuilding infrastructure in
Maryland.

Governor Hogan announced the launch of Connect Maryland. This program will
deliver a total new investment of $400 million to meet Governor Hogan’s goal of
fully addressing the digital divide and ensuring universal broadband in
Maryland.

A recent CNBC
<[link removed]>
study ranked Maryland as the most improved state for business in 2021 because
of Governor Hogan’s “forward thinking” focus on new infrastructure like
“developing its broadband system and strengthening its power grid.” Maryland
ranks third in the nation in connectivity with broadband access “available to
more than 95% of the population in the state.”

invaluable support for many years to our efforts as interpreters and support

Thank you to my friend @RepBrianFitz
<[link removed]>. The American people
overwhelmingly support the bipartisan infrastructure bill and oppose the
reckless and partisan $3.5 trillion spending plan. I urge Congress to listen to
their voices, not AOC and the Squad.[link removed]
