Historic Court Ruling in Lawsuit Against Twitter Means Justice is Closer for Survivors

This week, the NCOSE Law Center, The Haba Law Firm, and The Matiasic Firm received the order allowing the case, John Doe #1 and John Doe #2 v. Twitter, Inc., to move forward.

This is the next step toward justice for survivors who have suffered because of Twitter's blatant negligence to remove harmful child sexual abuse material on its platform—even allowing it to circulate hundreds of thousands of times. Meanwhile, Twitter egregiously profited off of the sharing of and web traffic to this material.

Now, Twitter is one step closer to being held accountable for knowingly distributing child sexual abuse material.

OnlyFans Forced to Make Major Changes to Their Platform

OnlyFans' just announced they will prohibit material with sexually explicit conduct. This is a direct result of payment processors like Mastercard recently refusing to work with sites that do not verify age or consent—an ask that OnlyFans can't deliver.

What's more, the BBC has revealed a potential criminal problem built into the OnlyFans platform and its practices, and OnlyFans needs to address claims of child sexual abuse and sex trafficking.

PROGRESS! Google Makes Moves to Further Protect Children

Google will now:

  1. Allow requests for minors' pictures to be removed from Google's Image Search feature.
  2. Default safety settings for minor's accounts on YouTube and Google Search.

There is still a lot of work to do, but we’re glad Google is hearing our concerns.

Amsterdam's Plan to Relocate Red Light District Won't Stop Exploitation

Legal prostitution in Amsterdam has been a cultural failure. It has reduced safety in the community for residents, tourists, and prostituted people alike.

Relocating prostitution out of the city center is just sweeping the abuse and harm under the rug and out of the public eye.
