We are proud to announce our second honoree for the 2021 Movement Builders Awards: Dr. Lara Skinner, Director of the Worker Institute’s Labor Leading on Climate Initiative at Cornell ILR, for her tireless advocacy for the movement for a just transition to a renewable energy economy. Come join us in celebrating our movement’s accomplishments with our honorees who are critical to making our communities healthier, safer, and more just!

Dr. Skinner serves on the Just Transition Working Group to support the implementation of New York state’s national leading climate law, the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. For over 20 years, Lara has worked with unions on campaign research and policy development. She started her career in labor with Oregon’s Farmworkers Union, the University of Oregon Labor Education and Research Center, and as an active member of the Graduate Teaching Fellows Federation, Local 3544. Now, her training programs help union leaders and members engage in climate protection and clean energy.
