Dear Friend,
Can there be an experience more terrifying, more desperate, than fleeing your homeland to protect your family?
Or arriving in a new country with your children, with no possessions, no home, and little knowledge of the language or customs?
That is exactly what is happening to thousands of America’s friends -- men, women and children who have been caught up in the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Afghanistan today.
In a matter of days, the normal day-to-day lives people led have become a frantic battle for survival – a battle with an uncertain outcome.
But what can you do? In the coming months, many of these refugees and their families will be seeking a safe haven in our communities all across the United States. And as we have for the past 110 years with help from people like you, USCRI will be there to provide these refugees with the resources, resettlement services and support they need to overcome the trauma they’ve experienced and to acclimate to their new homeland.
Please be our partner in this effort right now, with a special gift to support these families and help them rebuild their lives. Each of us can play a role in helping make the road a bit less rocky for refugees who have gone through so much. Your donation in any amount will make a difference and most importantly – will help give hope for a safer and more stable future.
Check out the latest of what USCRI’s national network has been doing to help. And thank you.
Warm regards,
Kevin Sturtevant
Vice President for Strategic Development
