Hunger is one less thing our kids will have to worry about as they head back to school this year, friends. We still have a lot of work left to do to get COVID-19 under control, but with the expanded Child Tax Credit, we’ve managed to slash child hunger by 61%.

Democrats passed the Child Tax Credit because it was so important to provide families the critical support they need while we fight back against COVID-19. Because of our work, thousands of children are no longer below the poverty line.

We supported and passed the American Rescue Plan without a Republican vote because we knew that this would provide critical and necessary resources to support kids and schools across the country, including right here in the Virgin Islands. In fact, thousands of dollars went to rebuilding schools from the devastating impacts of Hurricane Irma.
