Senator Cortez Masto won a hotly contested race in 2016 when former Senator Harry Reid retired. The GOP and outside groups nearly spent a whopping $50 million in Nevada to defeat her that year. When the votes were counted, she made history as the first-ever Latina elected to the United States Senate -- but she only won by 2 points.

As my colleague, she's advanced critical progressive legislation -- just look at the Child Tax Credit, the infrastructure bill, and Democrats' Covid-19 relief package. She's advocated to protect reproductive rights, make healthcare more affordable, and give working families a break.

She's stood up for the people of Nevada and our democracy.
