Hello —
Millions of Americans rely on the United States Postal Service to get everything from prescription drugs, Social Security benefits, bills, and even mail-in ballots.
But after Donald Trump appointed one of his top campaign donors, Louis DeJoy, to the position of Postmaster General last year, detrimental operational and structural changes were made to our Postal Service.
Overtime was denied for thousands of USPS employees, mail-sorting machines were decommissioned, delivery times slowed, and mail drop boxes were taken out of our communities — you name it.
And last week, the Washington Post reported that DeJoy purchased over $300,000 worth of bonds from an investment firm run by the chairman of the Board of Governors — the “impartial” group that decides the Postmaster General’s job performance.
But this is just the latest headline detailing DeJoy’s corruption. A few weeks ago, the USPS signed a $120 million contract with XPO Logistics, DeJoy’s former company. DeJoy is projected to make over $20 million from this deal.
In June, the Washington Post reported that the FBI opened an investigation on DeJoy. Many of his former employees have spoken up about DeJoy pressuring them to make large contributions to Republican candidates in exchange for bonuses.
Folks, DeJoy has proven time and again that he will continue to choose his own self interests over the U.S. Postal Service — a critical public service Americans count on. So, we have to apply public pressure to make sure he leaves before causing any more damage to our Postal Service.
Postmaster General Louis DeJoy must step down from the USPS. If you agree, sign your name next to mine on my petition calling for his resignation immediately.
Thanks for signing on. The integrity of the USPS is too important to sit this fight out.
