Abortion rights are under threat across our entire country. And that's not just a figure of speech or exaggeration.
Just look at this map of which states just recently asked the Supreme Court directly to overturn Roe v. Wade:
Last month, Mississippi's Attorney General made it plain: They asked SCOTUS outright to overturn Roe v. Wade and roll back decades of crucial legal precedent upholding our right to an abortion. Then, just weeks later, 24 additional GOP-led states filed a brief to join this assault on our rights.
*This* is what we mean when we tell you that we are witnessing the most direct and dire threat to our reproductive health in decades.
Women's March and our partners are already planning to mobilize in multiple states across the country if and when regressive anti-choice laws take effect. But with the stakes this high, we simply can't afford to cut corners or scale back direct organizing work because of a lack of budget.
John, we can't go back to the days when women died needlessly due to unsafe back-alley abortions.
We can't go back to a reality where coat hangers, knitting needles, and drinking bleach were the methods people would resort to in order to have an abortion.
We can't go back to a country in which our health and rights are not protected by our Constitution. And we won't. But it will take every Women's Marcher joining together in this fight to make sure that we can organize in feminist resistance to defend Roe v. Wade.
Women's March is calling all hands on deck to create a massive, women-led movement to defend the rights promised to us under Roe v. Wade, so we're asking you personally: Will you contribute $3 or more right now to help fund our upcoming mobilizations and advocacy work to protect abortion rights?
