As we enter the second academic year in the midst of two global pandemics— COVID-19 and systemic racism, equipped with the knowledge that in order for our education system to be equitable, things cannot return "back to what was," we wanted to amplify the work of our grantees at the National Equity Project. The group recently produced A Landscape Analysis of Education-Based Racial Affinity Groups in the U.S., along with an accompanying introductory webinar. The analysis calls out the need for cross-division collaboration to increase, retain, and sustain educators of color which will impact classrooms for the better in reaching the goal of a more equitable system.
