Earlier this week, I introduced a bill that would strengthen our investment in the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and support NIH’s ongoing work to combat cancer, prevent antibiotic resistance, and discover cures for rare diseases.

The Biomedical Innovation Expansion Act would provide significant support for the NIH’s research programs over the next 10 years.

Our country’s medical research is the best in the world, and if we intend to maintain our position as a world leader in the field, we need to provide the necessary resources for cutting-edge research to continue.

The federal research into the challenges of today means that Central Virginians will live longer and healthier lives tomorrow.
