Join me tomorrow as I walk in Albuquerque’s 🏳️‍🌈 Pride Parade 🏳️‍🌈, celebrating the LGBTIQ+ community and the progress we’ve made in fighting for full equality.

While New Mexico has long been a place where the LGBTIQ+ community is celebrated, we still have a long way to go to ensure our state is welcoming and inclusive for everyone. And in other parts of the country, for many LGBTIQ+ Americans, 2021 was the worst year on record for state legislative attacks, with an unprecedented number of anti-LGBTIQ+ laws enacted.

While we celebrate the diversity and acceptance of Pride, we renew our commitment to genuine allyship. As the struggle for equality continues for transgender and intersex communities, I remain steadfast in the fight for LGBTIQ+ rights and protections.

Being an ally means fighting for the LGBTIQ+ community -- not only tomorrow but year-round. That’s what I commit to do as your Secretary of State, and I’m asking you to stand with me and commit yourself to this fight, too.

Join me tomorrow in fighting for the continued expansion of civil rights and protections for the LGBTIQ+ community. We can only continue making this critical progress if we all work together, and celebrate Pride!
