Dear John,
Each year at our Voices of Courage Benefit, PRH honors two inspiring physician advocates who exemplify giving their all to make access to abortion care possible. They are passionate members of their communities who show up for their colleagues and for people needing care.
Earlier this week I introduced you to Dr. Deborah Bartz, recipient of the 2021 Dr. William K. Rashbaum Award. Now, I’m thrilled to introduce you to Dr. Ghazaleh Moayedi, recipient of the 2021 Dr. George Tiller Award.
Ghazaleh Moayedi, DO MPH (she/hers) is the recipient of the 2021 Dr. George Tiller Award in recognition of her fierce advocacy for reproductive health, rights, and justice in her community in Texas and surrounding states where she travels to provide care.
Dr. Moayedi is an ob/gyn and the Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Pegasus Health Justice Center, a community health resource that creates holistic community wellness through justice-centered, patient-oriented health care and advocacy. She is also a founding member of CERCL-FP: Centering Equity, Race, and Cultural Literacy in Family Planning—a collective that works to name, disrupt, and dismantle the systems of oppression in family planning care.
She serves on PRH’s Board of Directors and is a 2018 graduate of PRH’s Leadership Training Academy.
