Friend,

Something strange happened this summer.

The American Journal of Health Behavior, a respected academic journal, seemingly dedicated its entire May-June issue to validating Juul e-cigarettes as a "healthy" alternative to smoking traditional cigarettes.

You may be asking yourself: In what world does an academic health journal give its support to e-cigarettes, a substance that contains dangerous toxins and draws younger generations into a lifetime of nicotine addiction?

The answer lies in a $51,000 payment from Juul to the academic journal, which allowed Juul to buy out an entire issue and fill it with their own "research" – research paid for by the e-cigarette industry, which is effectively Big Tobacco 2.0.

It's an egregious and deceptive tactic, Friend, which is why I called on the FDA and FTC to launch an investigation – but I need you to join me in fighting back against Big Tobacco 2.0 to protect kids from harmful e-cigarettes. I've put together a petition and I am counting on 567 members of this team to add their names before midnight. Will you sign on now?

Add your name now to condemn the e-cigarette industry – Big Tobacco 2.0 – and hold them accountable for poisoning our children.

When I was Attorney General of Connecticut, I led and won against Big Tobacco in a 46-state lawsuit – holding the industry accountable for deceiving the public about the health dangers of smoking. The threats to health and safety we faced then are eerily similar to the e-cigarette industry now, as are the sickeningly deceptive advertising practices.

By masquerading their own biased research and advertising as "academic journal articles," Big Tobacco 2.0 is furthering their ability to cause significant harm. Every day, teens who have been led to believe that vaping is harmless are being tricked into a lifetime of nicotine addiction and disease.

We can't let these wealthy corporations get away with poisoning a new generation. So please, before midnight tonight, will you add your name to my petition condemning the e-cigarette industry? I'm counting on you to join me in the fight against Big Tobacco 2.0, so sign on now.
