John: As Republican state legislators in states like Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina set out to draw the next decade's worth of maps, let's remember the words of one of the GOP's top gerrymandering strategists, Thomas Hofeller:

"I define redistricting as the only legalized form of vote-stealing left in the United States today."

"Redistricting is like an election in reverse! It's a great event. Usually the voters get to pick the politicians. In redistricting, the politicians get to pick the voters!"

That should give you some insight into what Republicans are trying to get out of the redistricting process. But we don't have to take Hofeller's word for it -- both Republican politicians and party officials have admitted that they think they'll be able to "pick up 20 to 30 reliable seats" by rigging the maps this year!

And they just might be right, John -- unless people like YOU stop them!
