Many Californians have spent the summer under hazy, smoke-filled skies due to the unprecedented wildfires ravaging our state. Unfortunately, we can no longer debate whether we will see the effects of climate change in our lifetimes; we are experiencing those effects today.
We must do what we can to slow down climate change immediately, and that starts with banning all fracking.
Please visit [link removed] to sign your name and urge Congress to end fracking now.
Fracking slows our fight against climate change by delaying the badly-needed transition to cleaner energy sources. It dumps toxic chemicals into our communities' groundwater and has been linked to increased earthquake risk.
Last year, I urged the House Appropriations Committee to include a provision to protect public lands in California from new oil and gas development, including fracking. I then called on the Senate to prevent fracking in California’s Central Coast.
But although this is a start, we can’t stop fighting until we ban fracking altogether. That’s why I’m calling on you to join this fight and add your name by visiting [link removed] .
Climate change is real, it is happening now, and we must all do our part to slow it down. Thank you for taking the time to read this important message and stand with me today. Your actions can make a difference and I appreciate your support.
Sincerely,
Salud Carbajal
