Today, far-right Representative and QAnon conspiracy theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene is attending the Iowa State Fair and plans to hold an “America First” rally this evening.

This is a person who fanned the flames of the January 6 insurrection on the U.S. Capitol by refusing to accept the results of the November 2020 election, who has been kicked off of Twitter multiple times for pushing dangerous misinformation around COVID-19, and who has made a litany of hateful comments against the LGBTQ community, people of Jewish faith, and many more.

Hatred like this has no place in our great state of Iowa. So why is Governor Kim Reynolds inviting and celebrating people like Greene?

The truth is Governor Reynolds has displayed a long pattern of embracing extreme members of her party in order to score political points. Not only has she welcomed Greene to Iowa, but known white supremacist and former Rep. Steve King was one of her campaign co-chairs.

Gov. Reynolds embraces radical conservatives for her own political gain, while damaging the soul of Iowa.
