** Tell Gov Cuomo to Grant More Pardons Now
------------------------------------------------------------

This week, we were thrilled to see that Governor Cuomo pardoned five immigrant New Yorkers who faced deportation because of past criminal convictions.[link removed]

Four of those individuals called IDP’s hotline for help and our team connected them to attorneys who represented them in their pardon applications. We’re overjoyed for all of the people pardoned and grateful to our partners--Center for Appellate Litigation, Queens Defenders, Nassau Legal Aid, and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe--for taking on this vital work.

There are so many more people who need immigration pardons to stop deportation and incarcerated people who need commutations. Hundreds if not thousands ([link removed]) of people are waiting for the Governor to act.

With 5 days left in office, we are calling on Cuomo to use his clemency power now! Please join the call for #ClemencyNow and sign IDP's Clemency Petition today.

IDP has been fighting to expand pardons for immigrants facing deportation for many years. Through our Pardon NY ([link removed]) program, we support individual case campaigns ([link removed]) , provide technical assistance and advocacy support, and work with our grassroots partners in the Clemency Coalition of New York.
In Governor Cuomo's last public clemency announcement in December 2020, he pardoned an IDP hotline caller represented by our partners at Orrick. And IDP's own client, Juan Carlos Reynoso, received a Gubernatorial pardon last July, which allowed him to terminate his deportation proceedings. He is finally eligible to become a citizen after almost 30 years in the US. To learn more about our pardon work, click here ([link removed]) .
