URGENT: On the Ground After Haiti Earthquake

Project HOPE is on the ground in Les Cayes, Haiti after the 7.2-magnitude earthquake devastated the western coast on Saturday morning. We’re assessing the most urgent needs, delivering basic medical supplies and have activated a local Haitian medical team to help overwhelmed and understaffed hospitals.

The death toll and number of injuries reported continues to rise, with over 1.2 million people affected and an estimated 83,000 homes destroyed. Many official shelters and health facilities have been completely destroyed or damaged. Please give now to help save lives in Haiti and around the world.

Whole communities have been displaced from the widespread destruction — so many families have been forced to sleep outside in makeshift tents. In these crowded conditions, survivors face a greater threat of contracting infectious diseases like COVID-19, cholera, and malaria.

The people of Haiti need help NOW — health care workers and supplies like antibiotics are in dangerously short supply. The tropical depression that followed the earthquake has made rescue and relief efforts even slower and more difficult.
