“Ohio Republicans Introduce Bill to Ban Counting of Drop Box Ballots”

Last month, we told you that Ohio lawmakers could introduce even more voter suppression bills when their legislative session resumed, and unfortunately, that’s exactly what’s happening.

Ohio Republicans just introduced a new bill that would:

• Throw out ballots returned via drop box
• Eliminate no-excuse absentee voting 
• Shorten the early voting period
• Institute new voter ID restrictions

This is the second voter suppression bill Ohio lawmakers introduced this year alone. And there are hundreds more just like these bills popping up in state legislatures across the country.

Voting is the foundation of our democracy. That’s why as Ohio’s secretary of state, I worked to make it easier to vote -- not harder.
