Friend,
Making the right decision to withdraw our troops does not ease the pain of what we’re all witnessing, nor does it erase the bravery and sacrifice of our military and civilian members who served in Afghanistan. We cannot forget the tremendous debt we owe the thousands of Afghan civilians -- journalists, translators, negotiators, embassy staff -- who risked their lives to assist the U.S. in our mission, and must do everything in our power to quickly and safely evacuate them.
