But Republicans don’t see it that way. They are desperately smearing Fauci’s character, his career, and health expertise, anything to divert attention away from the Biden Administration’s strong pandemic response.

Sen. Rand Paul accused Fauci of a federal crime, Gov. Ron DeSantis and Gov. Greg Abbott are using their position of power to undermine Fauci’s recommendations. And far-right Republicans like Marjorie Taylor Greene introduced legislation to get rid of Fauci ASAP.
