John,
Let me share with you a longtime dream of mine: to spark the entrepreneurial dreams of the immigrant community. Growing up, I was deeply inspired by my parents’ entrepreneurial spirit despite their status, and it is that fuel that’s been driving my work for a long time.

That’s why I am overjoyed to invite you to the launch of Spark, our new entrepreneurship learning hub. ([link removed])

Spark is built upon years of organizational experience, providing kickstarter grants, and supporting and learning from undocumented entrepreneurs. It reflects the learnings from FUSE, the Entrepreneurship Fund, and UndocuHustle. Immigrants Rising has been blazing the trail of this work, and I am extremely proud to be taking this work to the next level with Spark.

And because funding is pivotal to the launch and growth of immigrant-owned businesses, I am especially excited to announce that Spark includes the opportunity for undocumented entrepreneurs in California to receive up to $10,000 for their businesses or nonprofits. Through California’s SEED Grant, we will be disbursing $4.06 million in microgrants to immigrant entrepreneurs all across the state with our eight partner organizations.

Join us on Tuesday, August 24, for our Spark Launch to learn more about the program and SEED funding.
