Republicans have boasted that Florida is “Trump country” since he was first elected -- and it makes sense. After evading accountability for the Capitol insurrection, Trump ran to hide in Mar-a-Lago under the protection of Marco Rubio, the corrupt two-term incumbent who helped him secure an acquittal.

But something's up in Trump's backyard, because The Cook Political Report has moved the Florida Senate race from “Likely R” to “Lean R.”

Rep. Val Demings -- a former impeachment manager from Trump's first trial -- is fighting to flip Florida blue and defeat Rubio, and it's clear her efforts are paying off. This is a great sign for protecting our Senate majority, but it'll take all of us stepping up to keep this momentum going and flip this seat, and we hope we can count on you today, John.
