** Race + Power Weekly
------------------------------------------------------------
At our editorial meeting this week, an NPQ staff member said, “I hate the way people in power are talking about what’s happening right now.” This week’s Race + Power explores different ways of talking about things. We begin by sharing a link to the application for The Voice Lab, a fellowship for leaders of color who are articulating new ideas and creating new forms. We also share a recent podcast with a woman leader of Afghanistan who spoke to NPQ days before the withdrawal of the US to ask for help. There is a link to an article about the narratives of deceit and “weakness masquerading as strength” that drive the US’s failed foreign interventions, Afghanistan being only the latest. Finally, we have a link to a statement from Afghan artists who expect to be banned by the new regime and ask for our support.
