Fossil fuel companies and Wall Street hedge funds want to build two new fracked gas plants - the Danskammer plant in Newburgh, NY and the NRG fracked gas plant in Astoria, Queens.

Building these plants would pollute our air and lock us into climate catastrophe. We have a chance to stop them if we act together - here’s how you can help!

Speak out against the Danskammer fracked gas plant at 4 upcoming virtual public hearings:

Register to speak on August 23rd via Webex at 1pm
Register to speak on August 23rd via Webex at 6pm
Register to speak on August 25th via Webex at 1pm
Register to speak on August 25th via Webex at 6pm

The deadline to register to speak at these hearings is 10am on August 20th, and a registration guide and talking points can be found here. All you need to do is say your name, where you live, and speak from your heart about why the DEC must deny Danskammer its air permit!

Then, submit a written comment to DEC asking them to deny Danskammer’s Title V Air Permit by September 13th, 2021.

COMMENT TO STOP DANSKAMMER TODAY

Speak out against the Astoria NRG fracked gas plant at 4 upcoming virtual public hearings:

Register to speak on August 24 via WebEx at 1pm
Register to speak on August 24 via WebEx at 6pm
Register to speak on August 26 via WebEx at 1pm
Register to speak on August 26 via WebEx at 6pm

You can also speak at these hearings via phone. To do so, register by calling the DEC at 518-402-9003.

It’s crucial that everyone registers to testify at these hearings, not just policy experts. It’s everyone’s air and everyone’s future. We all must use our voice!

Rally & Press Conference to Stop the Astoria NRG Fracked Gas Plant

Astoria Park, by the water, Astoria, NY 11105
Thursday, August 26th, 4:45pm
RSVP Here

Join Food and Water Watch, other activists, and elected officials for an in-person press conference and rally at Astoria Park on 8/26! Plan to join the evening hearing on the NRG fracked gas plant at 6pm from your phone at Astoria Park - we’ll all call in together to voice our opposition.

Our New Governor, Kathy Hochul and her Department of Environmental Conservation have the authority to stop this polluting proposal, but it will take our collective action to convince her to side with the people, science, and public health, over the interests of rich and powerful fossil fuel corporations.
