My friend, Catherine Cortez Masto and I were both elected to the Senate in 2016 and are up for re-election in 2022. Mitch McConnell has been working hard to recruit a well-funded opponent to challenge Senator Cortez Masto next November. And earlier this week GOP candidate Adam Laxalt — a former Nevada Attorney General — announced his candidacy for Senate.
Catherine is a tough fighter, but she needs our support to be ready for whatever they throw at her. Throughout her tenure, she has been a champion for underrepresented communities. She has fought for the renewal of DACA, reproductive rights, and economic support for working families. She is a hardworking Senator, committed to improving the quality of life of every American.

Adam Laxalt was hand-picked by Mitch McConnell. He was the leader of Trump’s Big Lie of voter fraud in Nevada, and as the state’s Attorney General worked to challenge federal environmental protection laws, oppose gun regulations, support restrictions on women’s healthcare and oppose investigations into Big Oil’s role in climate change. It’s clear that if he were in the U.S. Senate he would take advantage of any opportunity to set our country back.
Elections in battleground Nevada are always tight and 2022 will be no different. Catherine won her 2016 Senate race by only two percentage points and Donald Trump lost Nevada by just two points in 2020.
