Congresswoman Lauren Boebert has been unending in her crusade of cruelty surrounding the Afghanistan crisis. Instead of being a compassionate, upstanding voice of the people, she has gone on yet another Twitter rampage filled with hypocrisy, inhumanity, and ignorance. This past Sunday, Lauren Boebert was quick to attack President Biden for his handling of the Afghanistan pullout. However, last month, Boebert was the only Colorado representative and one of only 16 House members to abandon our Afghanistan allies by voting against the Allies Act, meaning she sought to deny additional visas for Afghans who worked along side U.S. soldiers. Jason Crow, a cosponsor of the Allies Act and Afghanistan veteran, was quick to point out Boebert's hypocrisy. Then, on Monday, Boebert tweeted "The Taliban are the only people building back better," a quip playing on President Biden's 'Build Back Better Agenda'. Par for the course for Congresswoman Boebert, the tweet was another insensitive jab ignorant of the 2,500-some American lives lost to the Taliban, and was another characteristic case of Boebert using a horrible, life-changing event for millions as a quick 'gotcha' against Biden. Just hours later, Boebert tweeted a video that has gained massive traction of Afghani citizens clinging to an airplane to try to escape the Taliban occupation. In the full video, cut off in her tweet, the bodies of those who held onto the sides of the aircraft are seen falling from the sky-high plane. Without a hint of humanity, she added "At least they won't have to read 'mean tweets'." Another example of Boebert's callous indifference towards human suffering. A cruel, ignorant, insensitive hypocrite, Lauren Boebert represents everything wrong with today's Right. Not only does her irresponsibility put Americans in danger, it also endangers and insults people all around the world, with this series of tweets being just another example. We deserve better than this. We deserve legislators who understand the struggle of those in need, legislators that can sympathize with people they have never met.
