It truly brings me no joy to send you this note.

This week, instead of working with me and my Democratic colleagues on critically important issues, President Trump hurled personal attacks at me.

After all the lows we’ve seen him stoop to, I’m not surprised.

However, I’m deeply troubled and deeply disturbed by Trump’s outburst.

I took a sacred oath to defend the Constitution against enemies, whether foreign or right here in our own country.

I want you to know I’m committed -- now more than ever -- to do just that.

That’s why I had to reach out to you directly this morning.

My Democratic Majority is the only check against President Trump and the chaos he wreaks.

I need your help to fortify it for years to come.

Please, can I count on your $5 before midnight to protect and expand our Majority?
