When Kina Collins decided to challenge an entrenched incumbent, she knew
it was going to be tough. Kina’s opponent, Congressman Danny Davis, has
accepted more than $546,000 in PAC donations, including hundreds of
thousands from insurance companies, Wall Street, and Big Pharma. But
Justice Democrats facing well-funded establishment opponents aren’t just
at a fundraising disadvantage.

Recently, the Illinois Democratic Party outright rejected Kina’s request
for access to Votebuilder, a Democratic voter database — which they gave
to Rep. Davis FOR FREE.

Without access to Votebuilder, we’ll need to find an alternative to run
the field campaign necessary to win this race. [ [link removed] ]Will you split a
contribution between Justice Democrats and Kina Collins to ensure that we
can cover this expense? We’ll need every dollar of support to defeat the
corporate Democrat in this race.

institutions like state Democratic parties routinely deny to candidates
just because they are challenging corporate incumbents.
