John, the last year in politics has been absolutely unprecedented – and we need to start treating it that way. This Washington Post opinion piece really hits the nail on the head:

Washington journalists can’t decide on how to cover extremist lies. They treat both sides as equals, even when the GOP is blatantly undermining the truth and our whole democratic process.

We know how to combat these extremists. By exposing far-right fraudsters and conspiracy theorists for the dangers they are. We cannot afford to keep giving them coverage to spread their lies!

But the GOP’s tactics are working. Their ridiculous lies keep spreading, just like Donald Trump’s did in 2016! We need to cut them off now, with massive victories in the midterms and democratic, pro-voter Secretaries of State who will keep the far-right in check.
