The US Census Bureau just released the data needed for states to begin the electoral map-drawing process. Here’s what we know so far:

  • This new data shows that America is diversifying, and that younger Americans are driving that diversity!
  • MN-02, the district I represent, grew in population and diversity over the past decade, along with other urban areas across the country.
  • This data doesn’t favor Republicans, and they are expected to attempt to cling to power by gerrymandering maps in order to draw districts in their favor.

By passing a record number of voter suppression bills across the country AND killing voting rights legislation like The For The People Act, Republicans are wasting no time in making their intent clear: They’ll do whatever it takes to hold onto power.
