Since 2015, Justin Trudeau and our Liberal government have continued to accelerate our fight against climate change by putting a price on pollution, passing key legislation to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, banning single-use plastics, protecting more nature, and so much more.
We need to continue to fight the climate crisis and prepare for future extreme weather events to keep Canadians safe and healthy.
That’s why, today, Justin Trudeau announced that a re-elected Liberal government will support the training of 1,000 new firefighters to help monitor and contain wildfires across the country and invest in the resources and equipment they need to fight fires and stay safe.
