John,
We hope that everyone is safe and healthy as students here in California and across the country begin to settle into the school year! Thank you to all of the teachers and administrators who are working hard to make sure our students are safe and getting the best education possible as circumstances around the pandemic continue to change.
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed what a classroom looks like and how students learn together. With cases on the rise once again, it’s on all of us to make sure this school year can run as smoothly as possible.
Everyone who is eligible for vaccination against COVID-19 should get vaccinated as soon as possible. Many young students are not yet eligible for the vaccine and remain susceptible to serious infection, so it’s up to us to make sure we keep our kids safe.
Learn more about COVID-19 and where you can get a vaccine in your area.
Unfortunately, many Republican politicians have spent the course of this pandemic politicizing basic safety measures like mask-wearing. You can find California’s latest mask guidance here.
We can protect ourselves and each other by working together. Get vaccinated and spread the word so we can have a safe and healthy school year!
We’re in this together.
