It’s going to take more work, but passing the For the People Act ASAP will still make major reforms to our democracy Indivisibles,
Now that the Senate has gone on recess without taking further action on the For the People Act, we know exactly what our next steps are. While senators are in their home states, we have to turn up the pressure so they know they absolutely must move on S. 1, no excuses, as soon as they get back to D.C.
The top way we’re doing that is continuing to drive calls into senators’ offices -- especially Senators Carper, Coons, Manchin, and Sinema, who have positioned themselves as the last Dem holdouts on doing whatever it takes to build a better democracy. No matter who your senators are, they need to hear from you that their constituents deserve and demand legislation that gets money out of politics, makes voting easier, and unrigs our democracy.
It takes a massive movement to get senators to move on transformative legislation like this. And with states getting ready to redraw their voting district maps, we’ve already run out the clock and need to get this done as fast as possible to minimize the damage.

That means we need to pour our resources into winning this fight at last: keeping all our call pages live, monitoring the latest statements from senators, providing merch and expertise to local groups, recruiting more activists, and everything else we’re doing in this crucial fight.

Then, if you haven't called yet today, click here to call your senators and insist that they let nothing stand in the way of passing the For the People Act and delivering a more responsive, representative democracy for all the people.
We know how frustrating it is to have reached this point and still not have For the People on the books. And senators heading out for recess without taking action has made our work harder. But we wouldn’t still be pushing if the fight was over -- we still have a chance to make an impact, and we can prevent the worst of the GOP’s attacks on our democracy. It just means we have to keep fighting together.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
