Two more leading retailers adopt policies for chickens. This is HUGE!
Just days ago, I reached out about Kroger taking steps in the right direction for chickens by introducing a policy for its Simple Truth line. Today, I’m thrilled to share that Sprouts and Giant Eagle’s Nature’s Basket line have committed to sweeping changes by addressing all aspects of the Better Chicken Commitment, a forward-thinking set of standards for animal welfare.
Combined, these commitments will positively impact millions of lives. Chickens raised in their supply chains will have increased space, more light, and cleaner litter. They’ll be able to grow at a slower, more natural pace. And they’ll be spared the horrific fate of live-shackle slaughter.
These back-to-back-to-back policies among retail giants mark a watershed moment in our shared quest to end the abuse of animals raised for food. And it wouldn’t have been possible without you.
Kroger, Sprouts, and Giant Eagle are setting a major precedent—and I’m more hopeful than ever that other brands will follow if we keep pushing for change.
Together, I know we can spare countless more animals from the horrors of factory farms. I’m proud to fight alongside you for a kinder world.
