Save The Waves has recently pledged support to two localized campaigns in dire need of support - Katoku, Japan and Killalea, Australia. 

These waves may be destroyed. We need your help.

Every signature counts.

Katoku Beach, one of the last pristine beaches and waves in all of Japan, is under threat from a destructive seawall project. Learn more.

Killalea, also known as “The Farm”, is a National Surfing Reserve and public space that is threatened by encroaching development on Crown Land. Learn more.

Save The Waves' petitions are more than a quick way of showing support online. The petitions we launch make their way onto the desks of decision-makers whose support we need. 

In Doughmore Beach, we submitted our online petition with over 100,000 signatures and 600 letters of written support (photo 1) to the county planning department to oppose a seawall project. We won that campaign in March 2020.

In Baja, Mexico, we presented nearly 10,000 signatures to the Governor of BC supporting the creation of the San Miguel State Park (photo 2). We are close to securing approval through this landmark campaign with our partners at Pronatura Noroeste.
