Last week, I vetoed legislation designed by Republicans in the Wisconsin legislature to make it even harder to vote.

This legislation would’ve made it harder for absentee votes to be counted and erected new barriers that would’ve restricted voting rights for communities of color, seniors, and Wisconsinites living with disabilities.

That is why I am proud to have vetoed this fundamentally unpatriotic legislation.

In Washington, Republicans have stood united against national voting rights legislation that could mitigate the damage.
