Team,
One hundred-one years ago today, the 19th Amendment was ratified, guaranteeing American women the right to vote. I wish I could say that today is a celebration -- a time to mark how far we've come in the long fight for universal suffrage.
But unfortunately, we’re still fighting for access to the ballot box.
This year, Ohio Republicans introduced a law that would limit the number of drop boxes to one location per county and only allow drop boxes to be used ten days before Election Day. This is voter suppression. The Ohio GOP is using their anti-democratic laws to stop us from flipping Ohio blue in 2021, 2022, and beyond.
Politicians don't get to decide who wins democratic elections. We, the people, do. On today's anniversary of the 19th Amendment's ratification, chip in now to help us battle voter suppression and protect our democracy »
Black, brown, and Indigenous people organized for centuries against voter suppression. Their efforts led to Congress passing the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which outlaws racial discrimination in voting.
The conservative Supreme Court has been chipping away at the VRA since 2013. It's no exaggeration to say the right to vote is the most vulnerable it's been since the Civil Rights era.
National Republicans are launching these attacks on our rights at the state level, which means we need to meet them where they're at and out-organize them. We're determined to elect Democrats and flip Ohio blue, but that means tackling voter suppression head-on.
I'm asking: Chip in right now to help us lay the groundwork to defeat the GOP and get Democrats to the polls.
Thanks,
Liz

Ohio Democratic Party
The Ohio Democratic Party is working year-round to elect Democrats who will fight for working families all over the Buckeye State. We have the chance to flip not only Ohio's open US Senate seat, but to elect a Democratic governor as well. Will make a donation today? Every dollar you give helps build a blue Ohio.
